Congratulations to NGCC Team Gallinger
Ron Gallinger skipped his team to a win at the Ottawa Colts Curling Series held recently at the Rideau Curling Club. The team started the day with wins over Team Winchester from the Navy Curling Club and Team Doucette from our own club. The final game was a back and fourth struggle against Team Fleck from the Ottawa Curling Club. Here's how the game unfolded.
End 1: team Fleck, with hammer, takes 2.
End 2: team Gallinger takes 3
Ends 3 and 4: Teams exchange deuces with hammer.
End 5: team Gallinger comes up with a steal of 2, to to up 7-4.
End 6: team Fleck is forced to 1.
End 7 and 8: team Fleck steals 1 in each end to tie up the game at 7-7.
Extra End: Both team end up with biters on the 4 foot requiring a measurement. Gallinger’s stone is closer by a single tick on the measuring scale. Early in the extra end, Team Fleck initially had the advantage, but a triple take out by Steve Jonsson got us out of trouble.
Final Score 8-7.
