- We’ll be opening membership renewals (signup) and donation capability in September. We’re currently adjusting the registration portal to a two step process. This year we’d like folks to register to play and pay, but not select leagues. When the decision around opening is made, we’ll ask folks to sign up for their leagues.
- To be clear, members will be able to register and pay but not select leagues just yet.
- The curling year will be January to the end of April which is ¾ year (~17/22-23 weeks)
- The registration categories have been simplified this year:
- Adult
- Senior
- Social
- There will be no unlimited or limited categories and no family discounts.
- The Board will be reviewing Youth membership and operational logistics in the coming weeks. Once complete the youth portion of registration will be opened and members informed.
- No new members will be accepted until mid-October, when we know if we’re opening.
- We understand that members have financial pressures too. So there will be options to pay:
- Registration fee aligned with ¾ year
- Full registration year fee (~5% increase over 2019-20)
- Option to donate more to club (could be used by those foregoing curling this year)
- If COVID-19 restrictions resume and we are unable to open, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. The other half will be used to cover costs through to next year.
- If COVID-19 restrictions are reinstated due to a second wave, the Board will do their best to provide 50% refunds if the ice has not been installed. If the ice has been installed, the club will not be able to provide any refunds.
- If membership sign up and fundraising supports reopening, the board will continue with league signups, club orientation and league curling. New members will be welcome if there are open spots in leagues. League structure and numbers are not yet known. We’ll be working on those next and will need to respect distancing requirements.
- If membership signup is not sufficient, curling will be cancelled for the year and the Board will determine next steps.
The following Memberships are available at the North Grenville Curling Club:
Social Member
Annual Fee: $58.54A Social Membership entitles the member to curl in any of our Club Bonspiels (at the member rate) and participate in all non-curling events.
The Social Membership is set to $66.15
Social Membership = $66.15 ($58.54 Membership Fee + $7.61 HST). Social members are not required to contribute to the Building Fund.
